Welcome to the 2015 Coastal Classic Volleyball Championships. We are excited to host this great tournament and wish your teams the best. Following is some helpful information to help you enjoy your time with us.

Wave Times:
AM Wave Saturday: 13s, 14s, and 15s
PM Wave Saturday: 12s, 16, 17s, and 18s
**Conway has a testing site for Visiting Students taking the SAT.

Spectator Wristbands
Wristbands are required for tournament entry and will only be sold on-site. 2 Day Weekend passes are $15 and a daily pass is $10. Kids 12 and under are free. Wristbands must be attached to the person and presented at all times. Lost wristbands must be repurchased.

Friday Night 6 – 8PM
All Day Saturday and Sunday
* To save yourself time bring exact change. Credit and debit cards take a bit longer. Friday nights are much less crowded. No checks.


Merchandise Sales

Events t-shirts and merchandise is available at the location. Every year we sell out so getting there early is important. Tournament Short sleeve is $18. We will also have various other items. Vendors will also be on hand.
*A service fee is required for credit and debit card sales.

Food Options
No outside Food can be brought into or food tables set up at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center including the lobby and parking lots. The CC will have concessions and food options on-site.

Hours/Team Schedules
Team schedules will be available the week prior to the event. Facility will open at 7am each day. All scheduled matches will be available on AES and can be accessed using a smart phone. www.advancedeventsystems.com The morning wave will begin play at 8am. Teams playing and working the first match must be courtside 20 minutes prior to play. After play begins schedule times may vary. The afternoon wave will start no earlier than 3pm. Teams playing and working the first match must be courtside 20 minutes prior to play. *Teams are responsible for knowing their schedules and will be penalized for missed assignments.

Team Information

Check-In
Team check-in will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center Friday evening from 6pm – 8pm and Saturday from 7:00am until 8:30am and 1pm to 2:30pm.

Required: A coach or team rep must present an AAU Roster and JVA Coaches check-in sheet to receive player badges and coaches wristbands. A maximum of 15 player badges and 3 staff wristbands are allowed. Coaches and players will receive a Championships water bottle.

*Players must present badge at all times entering or leaving the tournament. Coaches must have the wristbands on. Lost or misplaced team wristbands or badges must be replaced for $15/$10.

General Information – All Teams
Doors will open to the Convention Center at 7am. There will be no coaches meeting at the start of the tournament, Teams should check in and report directly to their court. Tournament will have an AM and PM wave format. Specific team schedules will be available on AES. AM wave will start at 8:00 am and PM wave will start at approximately 3:00 pm. Pool play on Saturday will be followed by playoff brackets on Sunday. The event will use AAU competition rules. Libero will be allowed to serve. Division GOLD winners will receive a Champion t-shirt and medals. GOLD second place will receive medals. All other bracket winners will receive medals.

Match Play
All matches will be best 2 out of 3 (25-25-15) and all matches are starting at 0. There will be no cap. Warm-ups will be 2 (shared) 4-4.

Tie Breaking Procedures
In any tie situation make sure you understand the procedures. Verify with Championship desk. For Coastal Classic tie breaking will only apply to teams with a possibility of going to the gold bracket.

All 2 way ties are determined head to head.

3 Way tie for first with one team going to gold. AES will determine 1,2,3. 2 and 3 will play 1 game to 25 (Team 1 refs). Loser is 3rd in pool and works next set. Winner will play Team 1. Winner goes to Gold. Loser is 2nd in pool.

3 way tie for first with two teams going (or possibly going) to gold. AES determines 1,2,3. 1st team is deemed #1 in pool. 2 and 3 play 1 game to 25 for 2nd place. Team 1 refs. Winner is 2nd in pool. Loser 3rd.

3 way tie for 2nd with 2 teams going to gold. AES determines 2,3,4. 3 will play 4 one set to 25. #2 refs. Loser is 4th and works next set. Winner plays #2 one set to 25. Loser is 3rd and winner is 2nd in pool.

Officiating
An R1 is provided for the matches. Teams are required to work matches including an R2 and should come prepared with whistle. A scorebook and pens/pencils will be provided. A working team is R2, scorekeeper, score flipper, libero tracker (if needed) and line judges. A coach who is not officiating must be present at the score table. Every effort should be made to keep play moving. Captains will be called within two minutes of the end of the previous match.

No Ball Handling inside the tournament facility.

Seating
Courtside seating is available. No outside chairs are allowed. It is considerate for spectators to make room for the families of teams playing and to switch sides with the teams during a match. Please do not take up courtside seating when your team is not playing.

No tolerance Policy
Sportsmanship and fair play are the highest priority. We want our tournament to be competitive and demonstrate all the positive aspects of youth sports. There will be no tolerance for misconduct by players, coaches, or spectators. Cussing or loud negative comments directed at a player or official will be grounds for expulsion from the tournament. If you witness any misconduct please advise the court official or a tournament representative at the Championship desk. Positive Cheering and encouragement for your team is welcome.
